My photography combines a life-long relationship with the Maine coast and years of working with fabrics and textile design. For me, the landscape of Maine is both remote in its beauty and deeply familiar. By layering papers and fabrics into my photographs they are transformed into something more textured and, itself, layered. To me, the textures give these sometimes-lonely landscapes a human, tactile quality.
